FIELDTHREAD

AI PROJECT CLERK · FOR SMALL CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES

Your crew keeps texting.
The record builds itself.

Your field crew keeps using the messaging app they already use — updates, photos, voice notes, English or Spanish. FieldThread files all of it into a structured project record the office can actually read.

— WHY THIS EXISTS

Field software fails in the field.

There is no shortage of powerful construction platforms. Every one of them assumes somebody will do the data entry.

The daily log, the change order, the delivery, the photo — filed under the right job at the end of a long day. Crews don't. Not out of carelessness: it is one more app, one more login, one more thing standing between them and the work.

So the record never really gets built. The system of record turns out to be a fiction — reconstructed from scrollback and memory the week a dispute lands.

FieldThread does not try to win that fight. It removes it.

The record is not something people enter data into. It is assembled from the communication that is already happening — the same thread, the same photos, the same voice notes on the drive home.

The only thing that changes in the field is the number they text.

THE USUAL CHAIN

ADOPTION DATA ENTRY RECORD

Two links have to hold every single day. Both are made of somebody's willpower at 6 p.m.

THE FIELDTHREAD CHAIN

COMMUNICATION RECORD

One link, and it is the one thing on a jobsite that never stops happening on its own.

— AND THE AI PART

Every contractor is being told to figure out AI. With FieldThread you don't have to.

It is built in from day one, working behind the scenes, agnostic to how you run your jobs. No chatbot, no prompts, nothing new to learn. You get the result of the AI — a project record that keeps itself current — without anyone having to operate it.

— HOW IT WORKS

Three steps. Two of them you already do.

01

The crew texts the job thread

The messaging app your crew already uses, same group, same habits. “East wall is closed up.” A photo of the panel. A twenty-second voice note from the truck. Nobody logs into anything, and nobody gets trained.

Ya cerramos la pared del este. Falta el blocking. VOICE NOTE · 0:21

02

The clerk files it

Every message gets read, translated where needed, and sorted: a daily log entry, an open item, a material need, a schedule date, or media. Voice notes are transcribed. Photos get a short id anyone can quote in a text.

→ LOG 7:12 AM · MARCO (FRAMING) → ITEM CHANGE ORDER · AWAITING 👍 → MEDIA #211 · TAGGED FRAMING

03

The office reads the record

A live dashboard: what happened today, what is open, what is still waiting on a 👍, what is scheduled, what showed up. Read-only, on a link. There is nothing for the office to keep up to date.

READ-ONLY RECORD · AUTO-REFRESH ON

— BILINGUAL BY DEFAULT

Spanish in the field, English in the office. Nothing lost between.

Crews text however they talk. Voice notes get transcribed, messages get translated, and the entry lands in the record in the language the office reads — with the original preserved underneath it.

AS SENT · 1:05 PM · LUIS (ELECTRICAL)

“Cliente pidió dos circuitos más en la isla, como $1,840.”

— WHY YOU CAN TRUST IT

A record is only worth having if you can defend it.

Append-only

Entries get added. Nothing already filed is silently rewritten later.

Corrections are preserved, not erased

“Actually it was 40 linear feet” is filed as a correction. The original stays readable underneath it, with both timestamps.

Every entry is attributed

Who sent it, from which number, at what time. No anonymous lines in the log.

The dashboard is read-only

There is no edit button in the office view. What the field said stays what the field said.

Your record is yours alone

Every company's projects live in their own private record — pilot to enterprise. Nothing is pooled across companies.

— ITEM HISTORY

Baseboard run — second floor hallway

TUE JUL 7 · 2:41 PM · CORRECTION · MARCO

“Actually it was 40 linear feet, not 24.”

TUE JUL 7 · 11:18 AM · ORIGINAL · MARCO

“Need about 24 linear feet of baseboard for the hallway.”

BOTH LINES STAY IN THE RECORD. THE CURRENT VALUE IS THE LATEST ONE.

— WHY WE'RE BUILDING THIS

Sky Link Solutions LLC

SYSTEMS AND AUTOMATION FOR SMALL BUSINESS

PLEASANTON, CALIFORNIA

SKYLINKONE.COM ↗

FieldThread didn't start as a product idea. It started with contractors telling us — unprompted, in almost the same words — where their projects actually live: in a message thread, in voice notes, in photos buried in someone's camera roll. The history that decides disputes, change orders and payment was one lost phone away from gone.

We build systems for small businesses, and we had never seen a category fail its users so consistently: powerful platforms everywhere, and the people doing the work refusing all of them — because every one assumes the field will do data entry. We became convinced the record shouldn't be entered at all. It should be assembled from the communication already happening.

So we're building FieldThread alongside a small number of Bay Area remodeling and renovation contractors — on their real jobs, at their pace. If something in the record is wrong, we want to hear about it the same day.

— EARLY ACCESS

We're taking on a few more pilot jobs.

If you run a GC or sub shop of five to fifty people and your project history lives in a group thread nobody can search, write us about one job. No signup form, no demo funnel — an email, and a person answers it.
